BENEFIT AND PREVIEW NIGHT PERFORMANCES
Lakeshore Players is a community theatre group in every sense of the word. Not only do our members and audiences come from the community, we also believe in giving back to the community in a very concrete way.
During the two-week run of our three regular season shows, we reserve our Tuesday evening performances for local non-profit organizations to raise money for their activities.
We charge a nominal amount for the tickets to cover our costs (royalties, programs and theatre rental), and the groups that buy the benefits are required to sell the tickets for our door price—or more if they wish.
The capacity of the theatre is 400 seats and the seating for these performances is on a general seating/non-reserved basis.
The preview and benefit performances may be bought by a single group, or shared between two or three organizations.
Groups that purchase all 400 tickets can raise up to $8,000 from this benefit evening, while their supporters experience an enjoyable evening of live theatre.
Among the organizations and associations that have taken advantage of this great fundraising opportunity in the past are the Lakeshore General Hospital Auxiliary, the Karnak Shriners, the Montreal Lakeshore University Women’s Club, the Pearson Education Foundation, Literacy Unlimited, the Cheshire Foundation, West Island Citizen Advocacy and the Pastoral Counselling Institute.
